2009-2010 Season ScheduleOur thanks to those who attended the opening of our season with our annual Advent concert.
Other concerts this season have included: - Latvian Culture Day Concert, January 31, 2010, 12:00 noon at the Latvian Church in Yonkers, a program dedicated to the works of Viktors Batiks featuring his "Requiem" and settings of Latvian songs.
- Winter Concert, February 17, 2010, Rīga, we repeat our program of January 31st singing with the Latvian choir "Balsis", the Choir of the Academy of Music, and National Opera Orchestra. The choir will remain in Rīga for subsequent recording sessions.
Our last concert of this season is coming up shortly! - Spring Concert, Sunday, Memorial Day weekend, our annual workshop and concert will be a privilege for ourselves and our listeners as the Rīga Dome Cathedral Boys Choir joins us, with their artistic director and conductor Mārtiņš Klišāns as guest conductor. 2008-2009 Season Schedule
Our 2008-2009 season wrapped up with our traditional Memorial Day weekend choir workshop and concert, followed by participating in the Latvian Song Festival in Canada.
Our season included:
- Celebrating Latvian Independence Day in November, 2008, reprising our performances of Kalniņ' "Senas Karavīru Dziesmas" (Ancient Soldiers' Songs), Skulte's "Ganiņ Biju" (A Herder's Life), and other favorites with concerts in:
- Toronto,
- Yonkers, New York, and
- the Priedaine Latvian Center in New Jersey
- Our annual Advent concert
- Our annual performance of songs celebrating Christmas at the Bonx Zoo
- Our annual workshop/concert, this year with Agita Ikauniece and Ints Teterovskis as guest conductors and featuring a visit by the Rīga Bank Choir
- The XIII Latvian Song Festival in Canada, in Hamilton, Ontario
